There is a widespread perception that a Scandinavian ‘look’ is a simple pairing of pine furniture and white walls. In fact, Scandinavians are avid users of colour. At Nordfarg, we spend much of our time encouraging people to use more colour and we are rarely disappointed with the results. For many this may seem counter-intuitive but, far from being heavy and overpowering, rich colours give rooms depth and warmth. The kitchen above is a good example of how, even in daylight, there is a combination of natural light and lamps. The deep blue hue of Skogsbär gives the kitchen a wonderful richness and, unlike many of the off-whites, encourages those in the room ‘to dwell’.
